why have i never heard this song before?? apparently it's a cover, but either way, it's amazing and i wish they had a studio version or even a live version i could download. we don't have to talk at all, but may i send you flowers? is such a perfect line.

It's only kind of a cover. Stephin Merritt heads the Magnetic Fields, but he also has side projects, one of which is the 6ths. He writes all the songs but has a different guest vocalist for each one. They are all really great... The 6ths album this song is on in called Hyacinths and Thistles. You could probably find that version for download. (I adore the Magnetic Fields & the 6ths!!)
i heard the 6ths version, but i'd really love to have this version as well. it was a really different take, but beautiful nonetheless. i didn't know the 6ths were a merritt side project though, so thank you for that piece of info. i'll definitely be checking out their other stuff now.
